Unusual One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1875, squat-shaped jug with squared spout, decorated with an unusual brushed and slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with spotted blossom. Glazed-over 1 1/4" line in handle. A faint 1 1/4" line at base on side of jar, probably in-the-firing. Some residue to top of spout. The jug has an odor from contents, possibly turpentine.
