Two Pottery Book Flasks, Philadelphia, PA and Bennington, VT origin, second half 19th century, a flint enamel example with brown and orange glaze over a cream ground, impressed "DEPARTED SPIRITS", circa 1849, attributed to Lyman, Fenton & Co., Bennington, VT; paired with a fancy Rockingham cobalt example, impressed "COMING THRO THE RYE", attributed to the Jeffords Pottery, Philadelphia, PA. Bennington example in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Jeffords example in excellent condition with a few tiny chips. H (of Jeffords flask) 5".
