Two Flint-Enamel-Glazed Book Flasks, Bennington, VT origin, circa 1850, both with colorful brown, yellow, and green glazes over a cream-colored ground, the larger example impressed "BENNINGTON COMPANION", the smaller example impressed "DEPARTED SPIRITS. / C". Both with a glazed-over crack along edge. Larger example with glazed-over crack along edge, additional thin cracks, and a series of small cracks with two associated chips at base, as well as a small chip to reverse. Smaller example with a glazed-over crack along edge of binding, a small glazed-over crack to pages, and a spidering hairline to spine area. H (of larger flask) 7 7/8".
