Two Pieces of Norton Family Stoneware, Bennington, VT origin, circa 1828-1835, a four-gallon jar with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "L. NORTON / BENNINGTON", paired with a two-gallon ovoid jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "L. NORTON & SON / BENNINGTON". Jar with long, thin spider cracks, roughness to surface, a few rim chips, and wear to base. Jug with in-the-firing contact marks including an adhered piece of clay at base, as well as shallow chipping to base.
