One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT:", circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Some mottling to clay. A few drips of red paint to surface. A chip to top of spout.
