Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Bottle, Stamped "J. SWANK & CO. / JOHNSTOWN. PA.", circa 1870-1885, flared bottle with distinctive semi-rounded spout and tapered neck accented with tooled lines, the shoulder impressed "J. SWANK & CO. / JOHNSTOWN, PA.". Albany-slip-glazed interior. A difficult-to-find form from this desirable Western Pennsylvania maker. Excellent condition with a small flake to bottom edge of spout and a minor, glazed-over chip to interior of spout. H 9 1/4".
