One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to John P. Schermerhorn, Richmond, VA, circa 1817-1837, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed cobalt floral decoration. Brushed cobalt highlights to edges of handles and terminals. Desirable one-gallon size. Large restored section and a tiny nick to rim. A 2 1/4" Y-shaped hairline to underside. Typical light wear to ends of handles.
