Five-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA NY", circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tall spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with heavily-striped leaves, accented with dotted trails. Very nice overall condition. A 1" base chip to side of jug. A small glazed-over chip to spout on reverse. Other minor spout wear. A few in-the-firing contact marks. A salt drip to shoulder and base.
