Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "S. HART / FULTON", New York State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of two crossed birds with spotted bodies and heavily-shaded wings, underscored by looping flourishes. Slip-trailed number 2 to left of decoration. Slip-trailed highlights to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some light wear to cobalt.
