Two One-Gallon North Bay, NY Stoneware Jugs, John C. Waelde, North Bay, NY, circa 1865, both of similar cylindrical form with semi-rounded spouts, each decorated with a large brushed tulip, and impressed "NORTH BAY" below spout. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's marks. Desirable size to both. Lighter-colored example with a 1 1/2" H-shaped line to side of jug, a small glazed-over base chip, and a small in-the-firing chip to top of handle. Other jug in excellent condition with minor in-the-firing flaws and a tiny spout nick.
