Exceptional Redware Loaf Dish with Profuse Slip Decoration, probably Philadelphia, PA, circa 1820-1840, with coggled edge, the interior decorated in yellow slip with a variety of diagonally-oriented, slip-trailed motifs, including short curved trails, long wavy banding, rows of spots, and stripes. A striking example. Two professionally-restored areas to rim, measuring 3 1/4" and 2 1/2". A few small rim chips. L 18" ; W 11 5/8".
