Glazed Redware Stew Pot, New England origin, circa 1820-1840, ovoid form with footed base, tooled rim, and applied strap handle, the surface covered in a streaky lead-based glaze. Good light-green coloration with orange spots. A few base chips. A few rim chips. Pot has an incomplete glaze and there is a dry, mostly-unglazed section on the reverse, extending to shoulder area. What may appear to be exfoliation in the photo is actually the natural coloration of the glazed surface. H 8 1/4".
