Rare One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Inscribed "WS", attributed to the Brown Brothers Pottery, Huntington, Long Island, New York, circa 1870-1885, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed, double-stemmed floral motif above the initials "WS". Impressed with the cobalt-highlighted capacity mark "1 1/2" at midsection. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A 1 3/4" hairline on underside, which forms a Y at base on reverse. Minor spout wear.
