Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "S. RISLEY / NORWICH", CT origin, circa 1850, ovoid jug with squared spout and ribbed strap handle, decorated with a brushed tulip emanating from a slip-trailed stem with wreath-shaped leaves. Slip-trailed "2" below. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Some fry to cobalt. In-the-firing contact marks near base on left side of jug. A small chip to underside at bottom edge of jug.
