Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, attributed to Abial Price, Matawan, NJ, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-squared rim, decorated with a distinctive brushed and slip-trailed design of a tulip with dashed accents to leaves. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A curved, approximately 6 1/2" line extending from side of rim to front of jar. A small rim chip on side of jar with 2" hairline descending from it. Several small base chips. A thin 1 1/4" crack at base, which connects to a tight spider line to base area on front.
