Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Southeastern U.S. origin, late 19th century, semi-ovoid churn with flared collar and applied lug and strap handles, the surface covered in a dark alkaline glaze with rutile drips to the handle area. Incised with a reverse number 4 on the shoulder. Includes wooden lid and dasher. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
