Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird and Floral Decoration, Stamped "POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE WST 12TH ST", William Macquoid, New York, New York, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a bird with turned head and striped body, perched on a flowering vine. Freehand cobalt "4" at shoulder. Some fry to cobalt. A 3/4" iron ping to front and a smaller iron ping to base. Four small chips to interior of rim. Some faint surface lines on right side of crock, not visible on interior.
