Spongeware Jar with Lid, American, circa 1900, barrel-form jar with tooled rim and base, the surface decorated with cobalt sponging over a cream-colored ground. Includes recessed spongeware lid with original carved opening at edge. Incised "S.3" on underside. Jar in excellent condition with two in-the-firing vertical separations on interior, not visible on exterior. Lid in excellent condition with a minor nick to edge on underside. H 9".
