Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY", New York State origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout and heavily-ribbed handle, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird with impressed circular eye perched on a stylized leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Significant restoration to body, extending from base to midsection.
