Stoneware Butter Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA.", Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and ribbed handles, decorated with a brushed swag and hanging floral design. Wavy cobalt line under each handle. Cobalt highlights to the handle terminals. Impressed with "R.C.R. / PHILA." maker's mark under one handle. A 3/4" chip to one handle. Short line along edge of opposite handle. A 2 1/2" hairline from rim. Several small rim chips. H 5" ; Diameter 8 1/4".
