Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHERS / HUNTINGTON LI," New York State origin, circa 1863-1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed triple-floral design. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. 6" inverted Y-shaped surface line on left side of jar's front, not visible on interior. Two in-the-firing contact marks to reverse. Faint 3" X-shaped surface line on reverse, not visible on interior. A chip to one handle.
