Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Stenciled Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", circa 1870-1885, cylindrical churn with tapered shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a finely-stenciled design of a grape vine with grape cluster. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7 1/2" X-shaped surface line on left side of churn, touching edge of handle. Roughness and wear to inner rim, where a lid would rest.
