Very Fine One-Quart Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1830, small-sized, ovoid pitcher, with footed base, flared collar, and ribbed strap handle, heavily-decorated with wonderful asymmetrical floral motifs. A brushed flowering vine design bearing two tulips and a cloud-like blossom extends around the body of the pitcher from the reverse, and an additional smaller stemmed flower continues around the opposite side of the pitcher to the front. The collar is additionally decorated with asymmetrical designs in the form of a stemmed tulips emanating from the spout and individual blossoms on the right side. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent size, color, decoration, and condition. In rarely-found mint condition. H 6 3/4".
