Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Irwin Station, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising "R. BAILEY. / GROCERIES / IRWIN STA / Pa." Stenciled leaf decoration flanks the "Pa" at base. Rare advertising and desirable small size to jar. Excellent condition. Typical light wear to cobalt. Some typical wear to interior of rim, including a minor chip on rim's interior, which appears to be in-the-firing. H 6 3/8".
