One-and-a-Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cream Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO. PENNS", circa 1875, ovoid jar with flattened rim, decorated with freehand stripes, a freehand "1 1/2" with dashes, and stenciled flourishes. The use of the stenciled abbreviation "PENNS" instead of "PA" is unusual. Jar is slightly out-of-round. Faint 2" Y-shaped line on side of jar. Long, very faint Y-shaped line on underside.
