Ten-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO, PA.", circa 1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled Federal eagle's bust surrounded by an arched foliate designs. Stenciled tulips above. Freehand stripes at shoulder and base. Base with freehand "10" flanked by flourishes. Large star-shaped crack to midsection on reverse. A 2 1/8" loss to one handle. H 21 1/4".
