Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Rose Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and thick wax sealer rim, featuring two finely-stenciled rose motifs extending up the front. Unusual reddish coloration to jar. Excellent condition with a small chip and minor in-the-firing nick to exterior of rim, and some minor roughness to inner wax sealer rim. H 10 1/2".
