Large-Sized Rockingham-Glazed Figural Toby Pitcher, probably American Pottery Co., Jersey City, NJ, circa 1833-1850, finely-molded in the form of a seated Toby figure, holding a pitcher with relief dog and sheep motifs. Reverse with spurred handle featuring a relief foliate motif. Surface covered in a reddish-brown glaze. Impressive form. Excellent condition. H 11 7/8".
