Unusual Glazed Redware Flowerpot with Tooled Decoration, PA origin, circa 1850-1880, tapered pot with attached saucer, the rim with coggled and crimped embellishments, the saucer with additional crimping. Surface features unusual deeply-carved column and wavy line designs and is decorated with spattered manganese and light streaks of cream-colored slip under a clear lead glaze. A 2 1/2" exfoliation area to saucer, along with areas of glaze loss to saucer. Heavy wear and chips to rim. H 6 1/4" ; Diameter (across top) 7".
