Large-Sized Redware Cake Mold with Manganese Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'", PA origin, circa 1850-1880, with turk's head form, heavy manganese sponging and clear lead overglaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark at shoulder. Provenance: Recently discovered on the West Coast, having descended to the consignor from her grandmother. Several cracks from rim and a 1 3/4" line to midsection. Glazed surface survives in excellent condition. H (to top of central tube) 5 1/2" ; Diameter (across top) 8 3/4".
