Unusual Small-Sized Redware Bowl, Stamped "JOHN BELL," WAYNESBORO, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, with footed base and rounded sides, the exterior with streaky lead and manganese glaze, the interior with clear lead glaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Excellent size. Glaze wear to rim and two shallow rim chips. Residue from use on interior base. Faint X-shaped surface line on underside, extending partway up exterior side of bowl, not visible on interior. Typical minor base wear. H 2 1/8" ; Diameter 5 7/8".
