Scarce Glazed Redware Pitcher, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1850-1880, finely-potted pitched with footed base, ovoid midsection, and thumbrest handle, the collar decorated with sponged manganese over a bright orange ground, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Excellent form and size. Restoration to spout and a 1 1/4" rim chip. Wear to rim. Handle broken into a few pieces and reattached, with restoration at upper and lower handle terminals and to crack at midsection of handle. H 6".
