Two Pieces of Westerwald Stoneware, German origin, 19th century, an approximately three-gallon water cooler with open handles and small circular bung hole, the front and reverse decorated with an elaborate incised and cobalt-highlighted floral design, the sides of the cooler decorated with impressed daisy motifs. Cooler is paired with a small-sized jar with open handles and two-sided bird, floral, and drape designs. The cooler form is unusual among incised Westerwald products. Cooler with rim chips and a chip to bunghole. Jar with light wear to surface, in otherwise as-made condition. H (of cooler) 13" ; H (of jar) 8 1/2".
