Bellarmine Stoneware Jug, probably Frechen, Germany, 16th or 17th century, highly-ovoid form with narrow base and tooled neck, decorated with a raised bearded mask above a raised coat-of-arms, the surface covered in an iron-oxide slip with overlying salt glaze. Excellent condition with some shallow chipping to base, some of which is glazed over. H 9".
