Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. LEHMAN & CO / WEST 12 ST N", circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of a flowering plant bearing three different varieties of flower blossoms. Slip-trailed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Faint 6 1/2" Y-shaped surface line on side of jar, not visible on interior. Restored crack from rim to midsection on reverse. Iron ping to front.
