Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON. N.Y.", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tooled spout and applied handle, decorated with a folky slip-trailed design of a pedestal-based urn with striped interior and rounded handles, brimming with a flowering plant bearing three blossoms. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Staining to surface. A small base chip and shallow base flake. A short surface scratch at base on reverse.
