Two Slip-Decorated Redware Plates, Huntington, Long Island, New York origin, circa 1807-1860, both decorated in yellow slip with impressed geometric designs, the larger example with a particularly elaborate motif. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Smaller plate with exfoliation to interior, some light wear to rim. and a small in-the-firing iron ping to interior and two larger iron pings to reverse. Larger plate broken into three pieces and reglued, with additional flakes to slip and small rim chips. Diameter (of larger plate) 11 1/4".
