Rare Painted Redware Lamb Doorstop, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1895, molded figure of a reclining lamb with closed eyes, the surface covered in white paint. Underrated in rarity, the Eberly lamb doorstop is one of the quintessential Shenandoah Valley redware forms and a classic example of American folk art pottery. A chip to rear foot and small chip to muzzle. Typical paint wear. Length 12".
