Two Ovoid Stoneware Jugs, American, circa 1820-1840, a one-gallon jug with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, stamped "THOMAS D. CHOLLAR / CORTLAND," New York State origin, circa 1840; paired with a two-gallon, highly-ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with two cobalt leaves over a slip coating, circa 1820. Chollar jug with thin spidering lines, minor base chips (most of which are glazed-over), and a dent on reverse with adhered piece of clay. Other jug missing handle, with loss to spout on reverse including two short lines descending from it, as well as a minor base chip, and a minor chip to underside.
