Twenty-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle and Freehand Decoration, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1885, featuring Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling surrounding a circular stenciled design of a Federal eagle's bust. Decorated above with stenciled tulips and freehand stripes and vining. Base with freehand stripe decoration and a freehand "20" flanked by flourishes. Long restored crack on right side of jar's front, touching edge of decoration, extending across underside and onto base on reverse. H 26".
