Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Stenciled Cobalt Decoration, attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tooled midsection and distinctive collar with concave rim and rounded spout molding, the pitcher's front decorated with a stenciled geometric pattern. Collar decorated on each side with stylized stenciled flourishes. Freehand cobalt stripes to spout and highlight to upper handle terminal. Approximately 5" inverted Y-shaped crack to base area on reverse. This crack includes a small sliver missing from surface near base, and extends a few inches onto underside. 1 1/4" chip to left of spout. A shallow 1" chip on interior of spout, partially visible on exterior. Small chips and wear to spout. Some additional light wear to surface.
