Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1845, ovoid jar with squared rim and applied tab handles, decorated on both sides with a brushed sweeping floral design featuring four fan-shaped blossoms. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent size, color, and decoration. A 1 1/4" rim chip. A 2 3/4" hairline from rim. Severarl hairlines around base, one of which extends approximately 5 1/4" up base.
