Fine Stoneware Canning Jar with Bold Cobalt Tulip Decoration, attributed to A. & W. Boughner, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, tapered canning jar with tooled shoulder and flared wax sealer rim, the front decorated with a wonderful design of a brushed tulip extending from a long stem with graduated leaves. Decoration and form are consistent with products of the Boughner family of Greensboro, PA. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example. Several rim chips. Some small base chips. H 8 7/8".
