Small-Sized Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "H. MYERS," Baltimore Stoneware Manufactory, Baltimore, MD, circa 1825, approximately one-half-gallon to three-quart ovoid jar with footed base and squared rim, decorated with a brushed leafy garland extending completely around the jar's circumference. Impressed on shoulder with lightly-stamped "H. MYERS" mark. This stamp was employed circa 1825 at the Baltimore Stoneware Manufactory, owned by merchant, Henry Myers, and operated by New-York-trained potter, Henry Remmey, and his son, Henry Harrison Remmey. Desirable form, size, and color. A hairline extending across underside and 1 1/2" up base. Small base chips. Two in-the-firing contact marks, which are fairly inocuous and smooth. H 8 7/8".
