Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Vine and Berries Decoration, attributed to William Morgan, possibly with Thomas Amoss, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1820, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a slip-trailed "4" flanked by vines and berries. Front includes visually-appealing cobalt spots above the number "4". Remarkable condition with only a few fairly minor base chips.
