Unusual Three-Gallon Edison-LaLande Stoneware Battery Vessel, American, late 19th century, Bristol-slip-glazed barrel form with cobalt banding, the pierced lid with printed black inscription "EDISON-LALANDE BATTERY; PAT. MAR. 20- 1883. / OTHER PATENTS APPLIED FOR". Impressed "3" on underside. Wood and wire bail handle at shoulder. Two hairlines at base, extending a short distance onto underside. Chips to interior of rim. Some staining. H (including lid) 12 1/2".
