Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stylized branch. Heavy exfoliation to reverse, including an approximately 7" loss to section of rim's surface on reverse. An additional rim chip on reverse Some lighter exfoliation elsewhere on crock. A minor 2 1/2" separation on interior of rim, not visible on exterior.
