Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, attributed to the Whites Pottery, Utica, NY, second half 19th century, a four-quart batter pail with slip-trailed "running" bird decoration, paired with a four-quart cream jar with cobalt foliate decoration. Batter pail with fry to cobalt, various damage, and significant restoration, including restoration to one ear. Jar with top-to-bottom crack on side, a thinner crack with minor chip from rim on reverse, a hairline to front, and two shallow chips to underside, probably in-the-firing.
