Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "LEWIS & CADY / Fairfax, VT.," circa 1860, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large, abstract slip-trailed foliate design. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Very nice condition with a 1" glazed-over base chip, the inner rim with small chip and typical wear.
