Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Syrup Jug with Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, squat-shaped jug with flared and pinched pouring spout, decorated with a brushed design of a grape cluster hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Spout and rim chips. Some light exfoliation to surface. Wear, shallow chipping, and a small chip to base.
